This is what I worried about. I've started my own vampire novel years ago, before Twilight got so damn huge, bringing all the YA vampire stories with it. Now I'm worried I'll never get published because 1)like you said, the market is full of them right now and 2)it isn't a modern, teen romance vampire story. It takes place in the Middle Ages. There's a romance, yes, but not til the very end. It's more about growing up and learning to think for yourself. I'm afraid no one will want to read it now :(

Ooh. I love middle age set vampire novels. :D

Bah. It might be harder to sell because the vampire craze is dying down but there is ALWAYS room for a good book with an interesting twist.

Keep going, anon. There will always be a niche for vampire fiction, and it sounds like you've totally got a different target audience in mind than the soap operas and harlequin romance novels with fangs and it sounds different enough to attract a diverse readership.
