If it helps you to reframe it: smutty fanfic is a fantasy. Most of us who write fic with "amazing" first-time virgin sex describe it that way BECAUSE we acknowledge it's a fantasy. We all wish we'd had mind-blowing, rainbows and unicorns, simultaneous orgasms the first try -- but we didn't, because very few people do.
