There's nothing wrong with being a virgin especially if you're a female, it's just better if you're still pure.

(Anonymous) 2011-09-03 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Uhm, I would argue that there's nothing wrong with being a virgin (or not a virgin, for that matter) regardless of gender.

[identity profile] stunt-muppet.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Silly anon, you know you're not really pure without the ~*~promise ring~*~!

(Anonymous) 2011-09-03 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"Pure".

Ahahaha!

(Anonymous) 2011-09-03 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL

[identity profile] vivi314.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
needs more chastity belts
and rings of purity

[identity profile] helenadax.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, because what if you need to tame a unicorn?

(Anonymous) 2011-09-03 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm a "virgin", female... but I'm far, far from pure (or a loser for that matter)... LOL nice double standard you got there.

[identity profile] omorka.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
The only purity that counts is purity of motive - treating people as ends in themselves rather that means to an end. I haven't noticed any differences between virgins and non-virgins on that front. And way to uphold the double standard, there, anon.

Having said that, it's your body, OP, and you shouldn't be embarrassed about the choices you make about it, whether you choose to be celibate or not.

*Pure*?

People can and do have sex. It doesn't make them 'unclean' or 'impure'.

Why does being 'pure' make you better, oh wise anon?

[identity profile] writerserenyty.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
ahahahahahaha, oh you

[identity profile] granular.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
If I was still a virgin, maybe my unicorn wouldn't have left me ;w;

[identity profile] insanenoodlyguy.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
This is true. A lot of ignorant people on this thread discounting purity, and saying gender doesn't matter.

But to unicorns, this shit is important people. Fuck who you want but don't talk like it doesn't matter to some of us.

(Anonymous) 2011-09-04 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
yes and you are a pure loser ┐( ̄ー ̄)┌

[identity profile] green-glee.livejournal.com 2011-09-05 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
I can't believe so many people jumped on it.

(Anonymous) 2011-09-03 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww you shouldn't have people shame you for being a virgin. I know a lot of people make jokes about virgins, but I am glad that I never gave into peer pressures into losing my virginity just because everyone was having sex and I wasn't. To me, holding onto something I find important means more than doing something just because a lot of people do it.

(Anonymous) 2011-09-03 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I relate to those characters too even though I'm not a virgin.

At least the likable ones who think about something other than when they will get laid.

I guess maybe I am a loser...

[identity profile] hikari87.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Being a virgin doesn't make you a loser.

(Anonymous) 2011-09-04 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Anon, if you are ashamed of yourself then people will judge you for that. If you own it, no one will either care or make you embarrassed about it.

[identity profile] soymade.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
There is no "should" in sex. I always assumed what worked for others would work for me, because that's how most of life is -- but, not sex. Sex is where everyone is different. I lost my v-card mostly just to say I had, and now I look back and, what good did it do me? None.

If everyone thought about rock-climbing the way we think about sex, it would be all "oh of course I enjoy rock-climbing, all day if I can!" and "I am *so* glad I finally went rock-climbing, omg how embarrassing." And people would be anxious about not having gone rock-climbing yet, and they would try to feel different and mature once they had.

...Uh. Anyway. My point is, it's just a thing people do. It's not even 1% of your identity -- that's how not-big of a deal it is.
