Also, like everyone else said, starving yourself is actually not an effective weight loss plan, because it fucks your metabolism super bad. Maybe you could spend an hour a day you usually use to play WoW and either cook something tasty and healthy, or go to the gym.

We don't know how starved OP actually is, though.

If she used to overeat because she was bored, and Warcraft keeps her from being bored, that's not a bad thing.

No way. If OP would sometimes forget a meal they wouldn't have significant weight loss. If they start to forget they're hungry they have gone for more than a day without food I would guess.
Eating is one of our very basic body functions and we only ignore it like that in extreme circumstances. The only situations where one would go without food like that when they have access are a) ascesis or a radical fast -> reasons are either medical (and then you're usually put under the care of experts/doctors) or religious (most people don't do it alone (e.g. moonks) and know their shit and how to survive. They train for this.) b) serious depression c) addiction.
Please get help, OP.

This is clearly a nonsense though.

I know the 'low carbs!' crowd love to preach all that sort of rubbish, but if you eat less you lose weight. Even if you eat a hell of a lot less, we vastly overestimate the required amount of daily intake. If you're getting to the point starvation is messng up your metabolism, you're eating little enough that you're still going to be droppin dem pounds.

Now this probably isn't super healthy (though we overplay this - unless you're to the point of anorexia, and your body starts to eat itself, it's not directly unhealthy bar serious illness or getting hit by a car etc but eh).

Yes, it is true that if you eat zero calories you will lose weight like gangbusters. The problem comes in after you start eating again. When you starve yourself (and by this I mean eating a drastically unhealthy amount of calories, not just eating 1600 when you had been eating 3000), your body starts reacting biochemically to being in a famine period, and starts immediately storing any excess calories it does get in preparation for further famine. That means whenever she doesn't forget to eat, her body is storing the excess calories as fat. This is why people who do fad diets that aren't just bullshit often end up heavier than they were before.
