(Anonymous) 2011-09-05 02:32 am (UTC)(link)I like how everyone assumes I read fanfic, or have an elaborate headcanon for Medic. I don't(I do love the fanart comms on DA, but fic is not my thing). I just happen to think that a guy who enjoys hurting people more than helping them is not a 'tee hee silly willy' character, and that TF2, being a game about basically murdering people repeatedly, is best taken as a game with dark humor rather than a completely light hearted romp.
I understand fully the use of doves as an unexpected 'pet'(Man of war, birds of peace, etc., etc., etc.), but then again, why did he need pets at all?
I also think there was plenty of 'happy psychopath syndrome' with the Soldier. Perhaps hated, dark and sinister were bad word choices for my secret, but I really would have loved it if Medic could at least have been left a bit more intelligent rather than giggling half-competent mad scientist.
That said, I AM fully aware that it's not my choice to make and what is, is. It was called a rant, and kept secret for a reason. because I needed to get what was irritating me about MtM out of my system so I could continue enjoying a game I love. I'm not the type who ignores canon or leaves a fandom because my expectations are not met to the letter.
And as for why the secret is 'late', I really tried to avoid posting it, but it was irritating me on a minor level, particularly when I saw all the dove fanart pop up on DA, and needed to get out. I kinda thought that's what F!S was about...

He implied he completely removed a living patient's skeleton, exploded heavy's heart, had a living sentient head that only wished for death in his fridge, gave no shits about the comfort/safety of his patients, and somehow sewed a dove into scout. How is that NOT dark humor??
