OP, the internet has a way of making people act like they wouldn't in real life. Just because there's people posting they'd bang her in a message board or whatever doesn't mean they would have the balls to pursue her IRL. Actually, they might not even be interested in her at all had they saw her IRL.

[identity profile] stunt-muppet.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Because low income, lack of access to cheap and healthy food and time to prepare it, needing to work too hard and too long to have the energy to exercise at the end of the day won't affect you at all.

Thinness is a status symbol of the wealthy who can control their circumstances and have good genes to back it up, not to mention (in the case of the United States) a symptom of a tremendous wage gap and downright horrible treatment of anyone below a certain income bracket. And also, unless you give men the same shit for being "land whales" who "couldn't man anything" you can fuck right off.

[identity profile] stunt-muppet.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Fat wank" amd "lololol landwhale" would get you bingo faster.

(Anonymous) 2011-09-13 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
holy crap, this.

[identity profile] kallanda-lee.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I shall!

[identity profile] rayiroth.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
4chan kids who went on there for like a year and starts to think of herself as a vet. Very cute.

Though I agree that /po/ isn't too bad.

[identity profile] rabidsamfan.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
That's where I disagree, again. I can easily see Blake thinking of Jenna in terms of her function. After all, I frequently think of "my boss" and "the branch librarian" and "the lady with the blond hair" (all one and the same person, by the way) when I'm working, or for that matter indicating to someone who it is they should speak to. In the first instance the epithet describes our relationship, in the second, her function, and in the third, it differentiates her from the other people who might be sitting at the front desk at any given time.

Don't forget Gan. That's six! (No wonder Avon and Vila always ended up being thrown together.)

[identity profile] van.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
It would really depend for me. I can see Blake think. "We have to get outof here quickly, and that was a job for the pilot." I don't see him thinking, in Blane POV fic, "How are you holding up?" the pilot asked. But perhaps that is just personal preference. Needless to say, "the curly haired rebel" is basically everyone but Avon, Vila and Soolin. (Now I want fic where they all get perms...)

I doubt that's why Avon and Vila are thrown together, but itis a funny thought!

[identity profile] kallanda-lee.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Ehm, not quite. There are other instances where Sansa chooses Joffrey over her family. She pretty much backs up Joffrey with the whole Arya/butcher boy thing to, which had rather grave consequences.

I don't blame her for Ned's death - Ned was pretty good at getting himself killed. I don't think anyone could have saved him by the time Sansa tried.

[identity profile] marumae.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Well yeah obviously the woman does and not her character, that's what I meant to talk about semantics, point is I'm not a fan of the whole plot line and I'm not a fan of Todd and he's in a lot of her videos. Then again I'm not a huge fan of the Skits and Side Plots anyway.

[identity profile] loracarol.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't watched her videos recently, as I was just finding her to not be someone I liked watching, but I might have to watch the "She's All That' video...

I guess, for me, it's easier to seperate their character from who they really are, but it's harder for me to do it with the Nostalgia Chick... YMMV, of course, though. <3

[identity profile] kallanda-lee.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
As I said above, it's not a single mistake. There are other instances where Sansa chooses Joffrey over her family. She pretty much backs up Joffrey with the whole Arya/butcher boy thing to, which had rather grave consequences.

I don't think she needs to have her fingers flayed at all - but I think she needs a hell of a lot of growing up to do before she would be fit to rule a kingdom, which was the point of the secret.

To me, I didn't quite like her and she seemed like a spoiled brat who pined for the big city while considering all that is Winterfell and her family to be inferior.

I think we saw change at the end, and her telling Joffrey that he will die for what he did after she sees her dad's head on a stake, was an important turning point in her character. There's potential there. I'm talking TV-verse, so I don't know how she evolves in the books. Maybe she already has, in which case I'll gladly take back my words. But TV-verse: she's not there yet.

Oh, and I have nothing against Cat. I think she's one of the most level-headed people in there.

See OP

[identity profile] rayiroth.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
See OP. Simply because there are assholes on FS claiming that someone's Japanese friends and spouse MUST BE WITH SOMEONE OUT OF TROLL it doesn't mean everyone on FS are assholes or that we all think that this person's love were REALLY TROLLED.

Similarly, simply because there are some vocal assholes suggesting that you must be hated in Japan for being Korean it doesn't meant that everyone in Japan has to hate you or you can never belong.

It just means... There are assholes in every group, really.

[identity profile] emeriin.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it helps if you watch Lindsay on her own, with VLogs, behind the scenes and commentaries and know just how much of a nice person she is. I emailed her once with an experience to help with her abortion doc, and she emailed back a few hours later with a really sweet response.

(Anonymous) 2011-09-13 03:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I, for one, welcome our new fishy overlords.

[identity profile] emeriin.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
That's understandable. I apologize if I seemed a bit snappish, I guess I just see the site now as much less as a place for reviews and more as comedic characters to interact while the movies they're watching are more like a framing device.

[identity profile] royalbk.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Um...OP never said they went there to find out their secrets either. Those people spilled their secrets all on their own.

OP went to their group to probably prove that different identity = people could love you even if you're the same person they hate under another name.

Just saying.

[identity profile] rayiroth.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually found Australia to be really, really welcoming compared to New Zealand. I do get various curious questions, which are not malicious in any ways. The number of times that I've been attacked because of my race? Twenty months in and it still hasn't happened.

What I did notice though is how unbelievably white the Australian media is.

(Then again, Australian's history with Aboriginal people, as well as the refugee situation. I'm just going t :( face forever about that)

[identity profile] loracarol.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll give that a shot, but I think I'm pretty much done with her NChick reviews... ^_^;;

[identity profile] kallanda-lee.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't comment on everything. In fact, I wasn't even on here for the whole weekend. I'm sorry that your personal dislike for me makes your life difficult...well, I'm not actually. Sucks to be you.

[identity profile] rayiroth.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I still get weirded out when people try to use this argument in Mass Effect verse. Consider that definition of racism is a quite US centric one and all.

//ot.

(Anonymous) 2011-09-13 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Not from a small town, but this is like the story of my life minus the successful. I'll be cheering for you too now I know this movie will exist.

[identity profile] rayiroth.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
But but but demonising Japan is cool! If you don't you are a weeeaboo!

[identity profile] kallanda-lee.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
That's just so precious. Ha, I'm loving this more than I should.

[identity profile] marumae.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 03:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh that's okay, I didn't see you as snappish, but sometimes people forget that they are in fact separate things and it gets personal and creepy, so I understand. I'll go to the site for some reviews (Marzgurl, Deena, Linkara on occasion when he's not getting carried away by side plotlines, etc...) because I do still like it there, but when the side plots come up I just kinda loose interest.
