And it DOESN'T WORK. That is the curse of Robert Pattinson. He doesn't wash, he openly mocks the books, and he does bizarre Dali movies where he makes out with dudes*, and none of this scares them away. NONE OF IT. It's so sad.



*In any other fandom I'd say that's a good way of gaining their love, but Twilight fandom seems bizarrely nonslashy. Yet another reason it is dreadful.

I kinda really want to just go out and have a beer with him because he seems like such an awesome, genuine down-to-earth sort of guy who had all this shit happen to him because he took the wrong damn part in the wrong damn movie.

I genuinely pity him, but he's awesome for trolling the fandom.

Except how hard would it have been for him to google Twilight before he took the part? Seriously? It's not like Twilight was some obscure series before the movies came out. It had already gained a fairly huge following on its own. The LEAST amount of effort put into an internet search would have shown him that. IMO, he's got no one to blame but himself.

Of course, let's not forget that he's only become as famous as he has BECAUSE he plays Edward in the movies.

BEFORE Twilight the Movie: Who's playing Edward? Robert Pattinson. Who's that? IMDB says he played Diggory in Harry Potter. I can't really remember what that guy looked like. Show me a picture.

AFTER Twilight the Movie: Robert Pattinson. You mean Edward from Twilight? Yeah, he also played Cedric Diggory in the HP movie. I remember that now.

Didn't he have severe financial problems before he took the part? Might not have been that much of a choice for him.

Psh, don't pity him. He saw it as a vehicle to push his name out there and he did a LOT of indie movies in the meanwhile to get actor's cred, all in order to get meatier acting parts like Like Water for Elephants. He did not go in completely blind.

That said, he don't deserve the cray-cray fans though.
