More likely that the fandom doesn't like her because they perceive her as a threat/obstacle to the brothers' relationship. Unlike, for example, Jess, there's a possibility she might come back at some point.

(and I'm not in the SPN fandom, but I didn't think that het was a big part of shipping there in any case. Wrong?)

But she's a nonrecurring character from an episode so early in the show that the plot hadn't really made an appearance yet. And that episode is considered one of the worst.

I liked her, though; she was the best part of that ep in my opinion. Fandom dosen't really mention her, though.

I think the problem with her and fandom is that she was a chick tbh.

Not to mini-rant, but I personally can't stand Lisa because it's so fucking obvious she should have been Cassie. Like, really? Dean is going to leave The Life to go try and be normal with Lisa, a weekend of Yoga sex? Cassie is the only girl he ever had real feelings for. It's like, come on, show, stop trying to force this other random chick down our throats when you told us Dean only ever really cared about Cassie. Sad her episode was so ridic though.

I didn't hate her, but I did have a big moment of disconnect when I saw her. I thought of her as Isabelle and was waiting for her to use her powers.

I was fine with Cassie but she was just a one off so I don't see how there could be real controversy about her.

I really don't ever want to see more of Cassie but that's more about my dislike of the actress and how god awful she was on the 4400.

I'd bet on her not being shipped with Dean because she's a woman. Het ships aren't big in Supernatural. Plus, she only had one episode. Jo and Lisa had more than that.

...wasn't Cassie half-white, anyways? I swear the main point of her episode was the fact that her mother had been dating some next racist white dude while secretly dating Cassie's black father and that was scandalous back in their times and so the racist dude went all crazy and killed a bunch of people or something.

I'm pretty sure most people don't hate Cassie that much, anyways. She was pretty much just a one-ep only love interest. I can see why people would hate Jo, Lisa and even Bela but Cassie? Not really :/

Funny because in the first scene I saw she was a POC I cheered. I always love it when a show gives me something other than the cookie cutter cheerleader type.

Then...I saw her acting, and the terrible dialogue, and the even more terrible "I hate you - no I love you" scene. I couldn't even sit through the bedroom scene, that's how little chemistry they had.

I'm POC myself and I WANTED them to work. It not working for me shows how badly her character was written/acted.

Uh...people don't like Cassie because she was with Dean, therefore meaning Dean wouldn't be able to love his fangirls OR Sam. She could have been any race, backstory, whatever, but the fact that she and Dean had a thing implies that Dean is 1) straight and 2) not available for fangirls. I really disliked Cassie the first time around because she was taking Dean away from his Sammich, but now I think she's awesome and ballsy and would like her to come back. :-)

The problem with Cassie isn't Cassie. The problem with Cassie is that, from the completely subjective POV here, and as someone who stopped watching the show after 2x03 because I was bored to tears -- the acting was terrible. The actor who played Cassie had zero chemistry with JA as far as I saw. YMMV, but god was that episode painful to watch.

The actual secret doesn't concern me, I don't even know what to make of it, but... I fucking love Cassie, I love Cassie alone and I love Cassie with Dean. In fact, Dean/Cassie is my legit OTP.

Cassie stan for life. This secret made me happy just for the simple fact that PEOPLE REMEMBER THAT CASSIE EXISTS.

Honestly, I was hoping Dean would look Cassie up. It's been awhile since I've watched the show, but I seem to recall her being the only girl he ever admitted to loving.

I think the writers stuck with Lisa because she had a son, and they wanted Dean's character to develop a bit of a "family man" persona to add additional (though pointless) internal conflict. As if he needed any more, after Hell and all.

Personally, I liked her BECAUSE she wasn't yet another blond white girl. But YMMV.

I'll also point out that one-episode characters are not likely to be shipped anyway...I like Cassie/Dean but I accept that it's a rare pair.
