what's the point of that word? couldn't people of all orientations be considered 'demisexual' with that definition?

because if you think straight/gay/bi/pan/etc people are never sexually attracted to someone solely due to emotional connection, then that's kind of... dumb.

also, A+ slut-shaming.

The point of the word isn't that non-demisexuals never experience sexual attraction based solely on emotional connection, but rather that a demisexual never experiences it without emotional connection. Like, their brain simply doesn't understand why it should view anyone in terms of sexual attractiveness, and they have to spend tons of time around someone for it to even consider the possibility. They aren't going to look at strangers or celebrities or whoever and go "damn that's hot!" because that's just not included in their immediate appraisal of people, and so also aren't going to want to get to know someone due to finding them physically attractive. Meaning that a lot of how conventional dating works is right out.

It makes perfect sense to me, but then again, I experience it? *shrug*

Hey

You know what that's called

It's called "being normal" and also "trying to make yourself a special goddamn snowflake"

There are tons of people like this in the entire world. You are not a minority. You are not unusual. You are in fact the majority. Why the fuck do you neet a word for it.

Also 99% of the ~~~~~~demisexuals~~~~~~ I've talked to have said "THAT'S HOT" fairly often, so you know, maybe you're the exact same as everybody else and just feel the need to try and prove you're special.

Lol. Demisexual in denial?
