Demisexuality as an identity is so stupid.

Good, so you're not sexually attracted to people until you get to know them; that's not a fucking orientation, snowflakes.

Demisexual is a way of shaming three of the four above orientations. Nothing more.

And after looking up what that actually means, no, I don't think he actually is.

I think he's a man who expresses a lot of emotion and affection through sexual and romantic gestures. Like, he literally needs this to bond with people.

That does not make him a slut...it makes him sexual and human(and fun). See the thing I like about him, that sex to him is not a big deal, but isn't meaningless at the same time. You don't see that in a lot of characters.

He's always struck me as the opposite of that. He needs sexual intimacy to fully connect with someone. Which makes his relationship with Gwen (for example) a bit confusing for him.

I think he's sexual in that it's an integral component of what makes Jack Jack, and how he deals with other people and relationships.

Jack is very sexual, but not in a bad way. It's partly him coming from a society with fewer sexual hang-ups than current society and partly his personality.

I don't know this word. Does it mean "doesn't care about the sex of the person they sleep with as long as they're awesome"? Because that's Jack.

He's also afraid to love people, since he's basically going to outlive everyone (which there really can't be a term for, since he's the only one) and the first time he really fell, he got left behind without knowing why.

I've always described him as omni-sexual, since he doesn't care if folks have breasts, tentacles, or whatever. But I've never seen him as a slut.

Given how many times he's expressed sexual interest in someone he's just met, I'm pretty sure your fanon for him is OOC. As someone else said, it's almost the opposite - he's not used to loving people until he's had sex with them (although I'm not sure I'd say he can't).

because if you think straight/gay/bi/pan/etc people are never sexually attracted to someone solely due to emotional connection, then that's kind of... dumb.

From what I've seen of Torchwood, I would have to say that I don't agree. To everyone else, though:

I'm pretty sure that 'demisexual' doesn't mean that people who aren't demisexual don't bond emotionally with their partners. Instead, it's that a person cannot be sexually aroused by someone unless there is that emotional rapport. It's not saying that demisexuals are the ~only ones who love or have a 'connection' with their partner(s), it's that they have to have that in order to become physical.

Based on what? The man shows the opposite reaction to me. He flirts with strangers all the time. He goes from first glances across the room to having sex with them as soon as he can get them to a private enough place. He has casual affairs with people who he then never sees again. If anything, he shows an emotional disconnect in that he seems to be able to drop the people he sleeps with out of his life without much difficulty.

Demisexuality means he has to know and become emotionally attached to a person before he feels attraction, that isn't what's shown at all.

Except maybe in fandom. In fandom, of course, he can be anything.

I don't know who this character is, but you can be demisexual and still be a slut. You just don't get any pleasure or reward out of it...but that's not to say you wouldn't do it for status, manipulation, form of payment, etc.
