I love Gone with the Wind, but maybe watch a couple of shorter old movies first to get into the swing of things. :P I'd also recommend Stage Door (pictured in the original secret), Arsenic and Old Lace, and The Thin Man. Oh, and Top Hat if you want to try a musical. (Actually if you want to try musicals, my list is much longer, but not everyone likes them.)

American in Paris, Meet me In Saint Louis, Brigadoon (God my love for Brigadoon knows no bounds).

My brain always wants to add Some Like It Hot because I was in a musical version called Sugar and I always forget the original wasn't a musical. XD

Well, if I'm going to be a horrible nitpick (and I am), Some like It Hot is actually a remake of a 1930's French film. A superior remake, but it's certainly not original*. :)

*which we in fandom certainly know is not always synonymous.

Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse *happy sigh* It's a beautiful movie. Though, the show is much better since the movie cut a bit out. But I still love it.
