I personally give you permission to say "No thanks, go on without me" next time someone insists you go to one of his movies.

I've managed to see none of them, nor have I had any interest in seeing any of them. From what little I can tell they are the kind of movie/book that is full of characters who I can't relate to overcoming troubles that bore me. I don't begrudge other people their sweeping romances, but I also don't begrudge myself the ability to say "no thanks."
