The Muppets were never supposed to be aimed just at children, and when Jim was still alive, they never were. Watch the original Muppet Show. Watch The Muppet Movie. Fuck, watch The Storyteller. Sure, kids can watch them and love them. Are they aimed at kids? ...not really.

Muppets are intended to be for families, people always forget that adults are in that definition of family film.

Even with the recent movie, do you think kids care about those celebrity cameos? Would they know who Sarah Silverman is? Should they? Those celebrities are there for the adults.

Good film makers can make entertainment that appeals to all age ranges, the Henson company was always very good at that.
