Do you know how inaccurate X Men is when it comes to evolution? That's not how it happens in nature! And do you really think people can develope genes that can make them shoot beams out of their eyes? Or control the weather?!

The ignorance!

But it's a comic book based story. Set in a comic book universe whish isn't our own. And it doesn't claim to be scientifically accurate, just entertaining. And it is. So there's no point in complaining about it.

That's not the worst part

cause in theory, maybe you could.

no, bear with me. if we consider all kinds of alternate universes, and really sit down and work out the science, I think we could conceive of a way in which humans could actually shoot eye beams or control the weather. Maybe only on theory, but we could.

But if that happened? It wouldn't be the same goddamn gene. The same thing wouldn't let one person do eye beams and other shoot beams, there would be a shoot beam gene and a weather control gene. But nope. All one gene.

Then you remember this is a comic universe and stop caring.
