I'd be curious as hell to know what you thought about Neil Gaiman's American Gods op if you ever read it, because he focused HEAVILY on the Norse Gods in that as well as in another book of his I believe, Odd and the Frost Giants or something (haven't read that one).

I can understand being irritated OP, and I love Norse mythology too but I just sorta closed my eyes and let it go and enjoyed for the shirtlessness, the actors I like or else I'd be so angry I couldn't think straight and I'd rather not do that. I have to remind myself that with every Hollywood Period piece. That's where my particular pet peeves abound.

And also, it's based on a comic book and I'd let it go and didn't take it seriously for that factor alone and ended up enjoying myself. But that's just me *shrugs*.

I've read Odd and the Frost Giants, and though I'm not that in to Norse mythology, it actually struck me as very accurate. There was no major re-interpretation, just a fairly simple story about the Norse gods, so I doubt OP would have much to object to there.
