It was clear right away that there was nothing to take seriously in it, so I wasn't creeped out by the coercive sex, but it's really easy to see how others would be creeped out. Everyone has their own places where they can and cannot turn their brains off for entertainment.
The characters are sexy to me, I love cheesy/still wonderful and atmospheric/over the top horror movies in general, the costumes are sexy to me, I love the songs. IDK, I love it for it's cheesiness, but also for the surface value (corset and feather boa dance makeout session in a creepy lit pool) I don't get liking it when you aren't into many of the elements that make it up, or liking the live show without liking the movie (except as a fun dress social event). So... it's totally understandable that it's left you cold. All the fun things about it are very love it or hate it, or just plain don't get it.
What I really don't get is being into it to be edgy. The time for that is decades past.

I also love it heavily for the over the top horror movie atmosphere, sexy costumes, and surface value of all that.
People who are not into that I assume probably won't like it much.
Though I do still enjoy taking people to see it for the first time.
