OP, I'd like you to just consider, for a second, how many new parents gush about having kids and wonder why everybody doesn't want kids and can't believe they ever lived without that happiness. It's the same for people who lose weight and for people who get in a new relationship and who have a new diet and who have an exercise regimen. It's pretty much that way for many major life events and most kinds of self-improvement.
Here's another one: do you ever wonder why your friends recommend you books you have no interest in, but then also wonder why they won't read that FUCKING AMAZING NOVEL you read and recommended to them?
Most people in a different situation will humor the ardent person to be polite. You are not The Prophet who will come and bring them the good news. People don't like it even when you tooootally mean well and toootally know what's best for them, even better than they do...because really, they can make their own decisions for themselves.

Now. That said. I think it's fine to want to share an activity with your friends and invite them out for a game or a jog or a walk or a swim or whatever. I hate it when my vegetarian friends try to convert me to their diet, but I don't mind when they invite me out to a vegetarian restaurant they like, because conversion is an act of control and inviting somebody out for something fun is an act of friendship. Let go of trying to control your friends and just be friends.
