I've experienced the inverse of this. I have one fandom friend who watches the same stupid soaps that I do (in addition to the relatively "geek chic" fandoms that we share) and she and I laugh and giggle like little twits together. We drool over all the hot guys and we slash like our fictional plane is going down.

As silly as it sounds, I was the tiniest bit crushed when she told me that she found Dante's Cove to be so abysmally bad that she couldn't stomach the thought of watching the first two episodes all the way through. I'm the first to admit that DC is an epic fail in all the technical aspects (writing, acting, production values, blah blah ...), but it's campy as all Hell, the boys are beyond pretty and there's smooshing and I luvz it!

I'm disappointed that she does not luvz it, too. But it's not her thing, and that's fine. Surely your friends get the RHPS isn't your thing, as well. Don't they?
