(Anonymous) 2011-09-18 06:59 am (UTC)(link)Yes, she suffered at the hands of vampires, but in her quest for retribution she heaped suffering upon tons of individuals (human, vampire and other) that never did a thing to her. You're entitled to feel as much sympathy for her as you please, but the atrocities she suffered don't excuse the atrocities she committed.
This is quite the topical issue. For instance, it draws a very distinct parallel to the disturbing anti-Muslim sentiment that's be festering in the United States for the past decade. It's dangerous, hateful and mostly irrational. All but a handful of the Muslims in this world had nothing to do with the attacks of 9/11 and most were just as heartbroken and appalled by them as the rest of the world.
