Both are pretty bittersweet, obviously, but I recall the second ending on a happier note.

"In Between Days" by Perpetual Motion, a complete AU of book 7. It's Percy/Oliver slash, but it's based around Percy running a safehouse when the battle with Voldemort turns into guerilla warfare. Characters come in and out throughout the story, giving flashes of the larger conflict going on. I came for the slash (no pun intended), but stayed for the awesome story.
