Speaking of non-Harry POVs

Oh my god. I disliked a LOT of Book 6, but its opening chapter is my favorite damn thing in the entirety of the Harry Potter books. Muggle PM meets ex-Wizarding MoM FTW.

Doesn't Book 6 start with Snape and Narcissa plotting some evilness? I just remember because that was also probably one of my favourite parts of the series (and I love my head's Narcissa, because the movie version of her just... ugh).

That's actually the second chapter of HPB; the first is what [livejournal.com profile] marshwiggledyke described. I loved both of those chapters, because they weren't from Harry's perspective. I mean, I know it's the Harry Potter series and all, but it was great to see something from a different, and more adult, view.

I hated all the snogging in Book 6, but I ended up loving the book because of all the Pensieve scenes. All it was still kind of Harry's POV, it wasn't so centred in him. I love the series, but Harry was always far from being my favourite and it got worse and worse as he grew older...

I don't really remember the scene with the ministers, but now I feel sad for it because it does sounds brilliant.

Oh cool! I managed to remember something. PARTY-TIME.

Uhhh. Wow, I really have no idea. :\ I'm really not a Snape-fan or a Malfoy-family-fan, so I haven't gone back to reread his bits in ages.

I just liked the momentary glimpse of a world that's NOT the POV of a child/teenager for a moment, and the idea of wizarding politics and muggle politics intersecting struck me as a fascinating, fairly unexplored route. Like the idea of the Muggle world finding about about wizardry, The Missing Year of Harry Potter by Neville Longbottom, or ANYTHING discussed in this thread (http://fandomsecrets.livejournal.com/749402.html?thread=474543194#t474543194), that's the sort of ideas I'd really like to read about in my Harry Potter fic, and so often gets ignored.

/socio-political worldbuilding hard-on for fictional AU verses + Neville building a team for La Resistance
