Hmm, not quite. The thing is, if you are with someone significantly older, they will start to deteriorate physically (unless they die relatively young) and just not be able to do the things you do anymore. So you essentially end up being with someone of ill health (even if it's just lack of mobility), or someone who needs care while you're still relatively young and full of energy.

Also, they might be in a different phase is life. Someone who's 35 or 40 is more likely to be wanting to settle, have kids from a previous relationship etc.

I'm not saying that you shouldn't do it, but it's something you need to take into account.
