DO IT, OP.
Not forever. But if you really feel like you need to take a break and watch something, just do it. Don't feel guilty. Do it for a day. And then learn how to balance your life between enjoying the things you want to do and the culture you're living in.
I live in Japan (which, I don't know if that's where you are, but it sure sounds like it), and I absolutely go home at the end of most days and curl up with some American TV. If I had to live my life as if my own culture didn't exist, I would go crazy...
...and I say this because when I was doing study abroad, in a different country, it was a very different situation. I had chronic insomnia and was severely depressed, but every time I tried to relax and do something that would cheer me up, like read a book in English or watch an American movie, I got yelled at for "not integrating myself" or "not experiencing" the culture. And I ended up quitting the program and going home because I was so fucking miserable that the thought of staying even another day was making me cry.
TL;DR: OP, do what you need to for your mental health. Worry about how to live, period, before you worry about how to live where you are.
