(Anonymous) 2011-09-19 12:52 am (UTC)(link)No, seriously. The graphics in FFX were really fantastic for the time and are lightyears ahead of the three games they skipped in the Grand Progression of FF Rereleases. So why bother?

They ALREADY re-released VII-IX on the ps3 (psone classics). And all the others (I-VI) have been re-released fairly recently as well. VI is about to be re-released on the ps3 as well.
If you wanted a REMAKE with all new graphics (more realistic, that look more like XIII for example) for the older games, they would have to rebuild the ENTIRE game. As in new models, music, animations, gameplay system, etc. Because of the difference in the systems and engines now. That's kind of a lot of work. It's basically like making a whole new game.
They are NOT doing that with FFX. It is the SAME FFX as on ps2, only they will fix the textures, and maybe some jagged edges. Then they plop the game on a bluray disc. Done. They aren't making a new game, just making the original look a little bit better. Like when they put older movies on an HD disc.
