And that's the entire point. She hates men because Todd doesn't want her and ties up/chloroforms other guys she's annoyed with, is on Team Edward, threw her morals away to get power in Kickassia and Lindsay can't stand the Real Women Never Wear Dresses attitude the character has.

This, basically. Nostalgia Chick is a character, something that people forget, I think.

Exactly what you said! Actor =/= character, TGWTG watchers and fans tend to forget this a lot. Nostalgia Critic is obviously far angrier and exaggerated in the negative traits for comedic purposes than Doug himself, and same goes for Nostalgia Chick essentially.

Yep; I think people forget more for Chick because the Critic is definitely REALLY exaggerated, especially compared to the vids he does out of character. The Chick is a lot more subtle of a difference from Lindsay, so I think it makes sense that people would forget.

I'm not so sure about that. Lindsay said she had to keep hammering it home that the Chick was a bitch (a bit like Doug has to keep trying to get it through to the fanboys that Critic is pathetic, not badass) and while I love the lady, to say she's not the best actress ever is an understatement. Doug on the other hand, can act. Just look at that ridiculously freaky speech from Kickassia.

When people need to explain the point of a character, it probably means the character isn't all that good to begin with.

So is knowing all this dependent on watching every video she appears in on the site or what? I only watch the Nostalgia Chick videos and I've never picked up on any of this. Maybe I'm an idiot but I haven't even heard of half of the people you're talking about. Is this a Dark Nella Saga thing? I didn't watch that.

I'm asking if there are videos on other portions of the site that she's in that I have to be watching to be aware of all these ~character intricacies~. I only watch Nostalgia Chick and Paw's Music Movies and sometimes JesuOtaku. I've watched MOST of the Nostalgia Chick videos and I'm wondering if all of this ~characterization~ is in the like four videos I haven't watched.

idk man when I first got pointed to that site I wasn't expecting all of this ~vast sprawling canon~ from dudes who imitate homeless people with mental illnesses.

You haven't seen the sexbot call her a dictator? You haven't seen her stalk Todd even though he doesn't want her? You haven't seen the dynamic she has with the Critic or the way she abuses Nella?

And the site's become less of a place for reviewers and more for characters who use the reviews as framing devices. Hell, there's been plenty of complaints about the storylines everyone uses.

I saw the sexbot. I saw like one thing referencing Todd? Maybe two, at the end of the Le Mis review. I haven't seen her interact with the critic apart from like one joint review they did way back. I haven't seen her abuse Nella; I've seen Nella hanging around being enthusiastic while NChick sits around making faces.
