You know what people tend to do in situations like that? blow off steam. spend a lot of time with loved ones. be a little careless when they are afforded the luxury. you know what that means? SEX. Not the opposite of it. I can see someone forgetting the birth control/condom (do they even have all that) when they might be dead by the end of the week. It didn't seem weird to me that something like that might happen.
Ps. If you have an axe to grind about Lupin and Tonks, you have one to grind with the Potters too, you know. Since baby Harry ended the war and all, I think it's safe to say he was also conceived and had during wartime. And Harry seemed to be more or less a planned pregnancy, so I'd question that one first.
Actually, almost everyone in his year that wasn't muggleborn would be similar I think . How do you feel about that? -_-
