I always thought Lupin and Tonks falling in love and having a child together was meant to show that life goes on. Even amidst all the chaos and grief, happy moments still occur like weddings and having babies. There's death everywhere... so why shouldn't there be life too? Voldemort could fill them all with fear and despair, but he could never truly win because there would always be love.
