IT'S FUCKING AMAZING IS WHY.

Okay I wouldn't call it 'good' television, but it's like crack. I can't stop watching and it's hilarious even when it (kind of) fails. It doesn't take itself too seriously and I love that they troll their fandom (the fourth wall episode was gold). Then again, I'm one of those people who liked the angel plot entering the show so idk that seems to be a deciding factor in whether you like/hate the newest seasons.

Even the hot mess that was season 6 with its 500 plots that went nowhere fast had its moments that I loved and laughed at. And, God(stiel) help me, I love the characters, flawed and douches as they all are. They're interesting (if at times aggravating) to watch.

+1 This. And I never understand how people take it so seriously that they really think it's declined in quality that much, it was never an OMG AMAZING EMMY WORTHY show, but it's always been good crack and it remains good crack.

I didn't love season 6 but it had enough fun moments and I still want Dean/Sam/Cas/Bobby on my screen.

Not going to claim it's a ~perfect show~ or anything because god knows it's not, but hey, it has its good points. I will probably always love season 4 most, but even seasons five and six had something going for them. I thought the middle of season six was a bit iffy, yeah, but they have enough set up for season seven that it has serious potential (again). I'm not bailing yet.

I didn't enjoy last season very much, although it definitely had its good episodes, and I have very low expectations for this upcoming season, but I'll still stick with it until the end. At one point, SPN was my favorite show on TV and I've still got a sense of, idk, loyalty towards it or something.

When I compare the early seasons to now, to me there's been a decline in quality, but not such a significant one that I can understand this attitude. Go watch season 1 again, it is not as perfect and easier to take seriously as you remember. Of course I love early SPN, but there's a reason it took me a while to get really into the show. It's kind of embarrassing to watch sometimes, it's still one of the best shows I've ever followed and kicks most network television in the ass, the end.

Couldn't you just... stop watching? I mean I understand that's hard, even if it sucks, but come on. I have absolutely zero self control when it comes to these things but even I stopped after season 5.

I lost my patience with the show a while ago, but there are people who do still enjoy it, and the show's a steady job for those involved, so I wouldn't say I'd want it to end.

Though I do miss actually being able to participate in the show discussions with friends or whatever, and it makes me feel a bit left out. Makes me a bit irrationally resentful they're (show and friends) ~continuing on without me~ lol.

I have to say I'm surprised at the reaction to this secret. I've never watched the show but the fandom is a glololorious past time of mine, and pretty much literally all I've seen from fans for the past year or so has been complaints about the direction, quality and cast of this show. Not in a butthurt way either, just, like, a constant acknowledgement that the show sucks now.

I guess it was an overreaction? IDK I haven't seen pure excited squee for this show in what feels like forever. I didn't think many people still liked it.
