It sounds like another cop drama show and I don't particularly like those. Sorry. I'll probably never go out of my way to watch this show. I might if it happened to be on tv and there was nothing else on or someone else was watching it on the tv. I don't care if critics say it's the best tv show ever made. It wouldn't be the first time I disagreed with them. I thought The Pacific was crap. But hey, you have your opinions and I have mine. Whatevs.

(As I said above, I don't mind if people don't like it, so this comment is as much for the benefit of people who don't know the show and might be interested as it is for you, but):

-- It's really not another cop drama show, if by that you mean Law + Order and other procedurals. Procedurals are one of my least favorite kinds of drama, but The Wire is nothing like that. It's like the anti-procedural (sorry, The Killing, you were beat to the punch), with a complete lack of tight arcs, very complicated stories that very much take a whole season (or often more) to tell, a commitment to realism, showing the "bad guys" as full characters as much as the cops -- plus, after Season 1, it branches off from cops vs. drug dealers. By Season 4, just as much time is being spent on schools and politics as cops and dealers.

-- The Wire is literally the worst show to watch randomly because someone else is watching an episode or whatever. It will make no sense. That's just not a good way to try to watch it. I mean, go ahead, but please don't judge the show based on a random episode.
