I would like a game with Zelda as the main warrior protagonist too. As for Link being made into a woman, I feel like it would be a pretty pointless change. Link already looks very effeminate--if you mute the TV or ignore his manly sound effects he may as well be female. Dozens of woman gamers just pretended he was one back in the days before the detailed graphics. Making Link into a woman could go wrong in a hundred different ways too beyond the initial outcry of fans who never wanted him to change, so I don't think Nintendo will go for it.

Personally I like the games with young Link the most. If they did change him into a girl I'd want it to be when he was young.

I agreed with everything you've said here. I used to think Link was female when I was younger because he came across that way to me when he was a child (my first Zelda game was OoT, and it took my brother and I a while to get to the time skip), but I don't think it would come off well if the creators actually went down that route.

I love Link as he is, but sometimes I like to pretend he's a girl masquerading as a man to protect her world. :P All you need to do is get creative while you play, I think.

I thought Link was female when I was younger because I thought his name was Zelda. and yeah, confession time I never made it up to the time skip in OoT, so I saw nothing to contradict my theory.

It's okay. My first Link avatar whatever was named Zelda, and I didn't find out his name was Link until we bought the play guide thing. And to be fair, I never actually made it past the Deku Tree because I got caught in a glitchy hole of some sort in there and just ended up trying to kill Navi for about a half hour before giving up. My brother's the one who made it to the time skip because I'm a video game fail.
