I... don't really get the point of fandom related tattoos. Maybe because I've never had a fandom I've stayed heavily interested in for more than two, three years at the outside.

However, if you like it and it makes you happy, do what you want, OP!

Yeah, that's how I feel. A lot of people I know have got fandom tattoos and I worry what will happen when/if they get bored of that fandom and move on, but it's really none of my business what someone else does with their body so I keep my trap shut : |

well, i think if you're really invested, it's a nice marker of that investment.

example: i've been in the LOTR fandom for about ten years and i'm really considering getting the elvish symbol for "9" tattooed on me at some point like the actors from the fellowship did at the end of filming peter jackson's LOTR trilogy. :3

Yeah, I think it depends on, like, the lifespan of the fandom. I'm really into Gossip Girl, but I doubt that I'll still care about it in two years. People have been caring about Doctor Who for decades, though.
