I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm pretty sure my RL attraction to Asians comes from watching too many Asian dramas. But I'm not sure that's really a bad thing, or necessarily a fetishizing thing - peoples' conceptions of what's attractive is affected by the kind of media they watch. If you watch a lot of American shows with hot white guys you drift towards that ideal, but if you watch a lot of Asian dramas you start drifting towards different standards of attractiveness, whether they be purely physical or things like hairstyle and clothing and body language. It's kinda made me aware how standards of beauty are really culturally created - you see something enough and it starts looking hot to you.

Anyway my (Asian) boyfriend seems to enjoy the fact that I find him smoking hot, so if he has no complaints I'm not gonna worry about it.
