You can perfectly be a fan of the series, though, without assigning any sexuality to him. Which is what I did for the longest times, because I don't usually listen to author interviews.

In the books, he's not explicitly shown as any sexual orientation. So if we're talking about what canon says, then it's not impossible to read the books and never get that from them (much like a lot of people did). It doesn't mean he's not gay. It just means canon didn't explore that part of his life. So if we're going by canon = what the original medium states (which is how a lot of people see books/movies/tv shows), then no, he's not gay.

Dumbledore isn't gay in canon. He isn't heterosexual either.

..J.K confirmed that he was gay. Unless you mean that it wasn't implicitly stated in the books, which, fair call, though it was very heavily implied in his background scenes with Grindlewald.

In an interview. Author interviews, especially those done post-series, don't count as canon for quite a lot of people.
