She gives up everything for him, even agrees to spend her life in prison for a murder she didn't commit. And I don't see why. It seems like the least he could do is pull some strings there. Even if he had actually been dead, I don't even see how she'd be responsible for killing him, since the suit did all the work.
So now it's just tragic and horrible how she spends her whole life in jail and gives up all her regenerations and oh yeah FREAKING DIES FOR HIM and all she gets out of the deal is, what? "Nights" with the Doctor? Which makes it even creepier. He also gets this captive fantasy wife he met when she was a baby out of the deal. What the hell?
I think I need to stop ranting. The strangest thing is I do vaguely ship it because of the acting and such (and I've never shipped the Doctor with anyone before). Maybe that's why it bugs me so much.
