Canonically, there may be some evidence to an unhealthy obsession and if you tweak things here and there... But I don't think all of us H/D fans are going to rabidly insist that Draco was "like totes in love with Harry OMG~" as though it is the most canon thing this side of R/Hr.

It certainly wouldn't have been healthy, in my opinion, and I ship it.

I think since it's canon (?) that he married someone who was at Hogwarts with them (Astoria Greengrass?) the OP is saying he must have crushed on her at Hogwarts.

Which is not--actually--a reasonable assumption. It does make sense (to a degree) that if Hogwarts is the only wizarding school on the British Isles and most of the wizards from the UK attend it, wizards could graduate and meet/date/marry someone they went to school with, without being enamored with (or even knowing) them at school. Not that that justifies the pairings among the main trio, but who the hell knows what was going on with Draco and his eventual wife.

Astoria was younger, though, wasn't she? I don't recall if she was at Hogwarts. It's been a while since I've read the full series or even been in the fandom actively. >_<

However, we do know that she was the sister to Daphne Greengrass. And the whole Slytherin/pureblood beliefs may have influenced that marriage. Who knows?

Yeah- I mean, canonically half of the time Draco has his head up his own ass, and the other half he's obsessed with beating Harry Potter. I do believe that he dated Pansy briefly, but I just doubt that he had the time in his busy Trio-taunting schedule to have an entire relationship completely off screen. Now, Asteria crushing on him seems more plausible, but I don't get why anyone would bitch about that because we literally know nothing about her personality.

We can assume based on canon that he actually had legit feelings for Pansy, I suppose. But I think it was all kind of superficial.

As far as Draco goes, I think the point of Draco not ending up with his Hogwarts sweetheart is because he's a bully. It seems like all the good guys got to find true love young and it lasted and was lovely, but Draco gets a receding hairline and some woman we don't even know.

I do not actually recall that, but it has been ages since I've read anything about the in between the Epilogue time and post epilogue stuff.
