OMFG, I never realized, but in that pic, he kinda looks like young Trent Reznor. o.O

So glad someone posted this. It' s more the resemblance that annoys me rather than the design itself.

His whole "Dante is lame and uncool, we need someone hip and modern, for instance, ME, when I was in my 70s British punk phase" spiel bothers me most, followed by, "He has white hair when he Devil Triggers--look, white hair, you like him now, right?" followed by the fact that I've never enjoyed a Ninja Theory game and have no faith in their game-making abilities.

lol, this. i'm surprised there's still some interest in the game from optimistic fans, tbh. ninja theory is such an abysmal dev team with such a bullshit lets-blame-the-fans-when-our-games-dont-sell attitude. i was already burned by heavenly sword (and that's apparently one of their better games!), so i don't think i can handle the butchering they'll no doubt do to devil may cry. :(

i just hope this game doesn't end up spelling the death of the original series. i need DMC5 in my life.

This too, certainly. It's interesting that he blatantly insulted currently existing fans and was subsequently surprised that they got offended. Yes, THAT will sell games! Genius!

I haven't actually played any of their games, but after horror stories of Other M portraying Samus as a weak, whiny bitch, I have no desire to.

Sadly Ninja Theory do the same thing with every game they release. They release a mediocre, clunky and repetitive game, it sells poorly, they blame the fans for not ~understanding~ their genius. Rinse and repeat.

They have been doing this since the PS3 first came out and nobody bought Heavenly Sword.

Ninja Theory weren't responsible for Other M. That was Team Ninja.

E-fucking-xactly. I hate the blatant bashing and dissing Ninja Theory has engaged in, as if they have ANY leg to stand on, and then whining and moaning when fans don't swallow their bullshit. I mean, yeah, (justifiably) pissed DMC fans are totes to blame for your little niche game failing, amirite, Tameem?

You are awesome, croiky. (And seriously this is one of the many reasons why people are Fry-squinting at the "new" Dante. Also OP, the new game isn't out yet. You have no idea what new Dante's character is or if he has any period. And if you think original Dante had no character I'm willing to bet you didn't play the original games at all.)

Depending on who you ask, you could say that Dante in fact has three or even four characters, lol. And none of them are drab emo-goth. If they had said the new DmC was Virgil I could buy that. If at the end of the game it turns out that he's some asshole poser who just thinks he's Dante, I could buy and maybe enjoy that. Trying to pass this guy off as the same Dante just doesn't make sense.

I love Trishy. I headship her with Dante. xD

I would have liked a game about Virgil, even one about their dad Sparta. That would have been badass. :( I just wish they'd have called the new version something else. He's not Dante, end of story.

ugh this comparison actually makes me feel ill. like, it's fair enough if tameen wanted to make a new design. that's his choice. but to flat out say "nobody would take the old dante seriously if they saw him in real life. MY dante is a real hero" even though the new dante is obviously a fucking self-insert is just....gross. how self centered can you be?!

Dante is basically Tameem-from-15-years-ago.
