I was going to post a Birds joke too, but since a bunch of people have topped anything I'd come up with, I'd just like to seriously say: awwwww! I have those weird mental reactions to some fictional characters too, but also? The man makes me *so damned happy* whenever he's onscreen.

My only thought is that you picked a very strange collection of birds to represent "birdsong." None of those animals are songbirds; there's fowl and two birds of prey, all of which crow or screech, except quail which weep.

They're certainly something to behold!

We have a court at my old highschool with a flock of peacocks in it, and every spring you can hear them crow all through the school. I used to go into the court and crow back at them, because I learned how to mimic the call. No wonder my friends hated me.

True story: Where my ex-husband lives they have wild (or perhaps feral...) peacocks. One day an elderly woman got pissed off at them and went to chase them off her lawn. She fell and broke her hip. (Which isn't funny of course and sucks, but anyway...) Fortunately someone came right away to take her the hospital, but that person left the door of the house open and the peacocks came in and messed up her house. (Not deliberately, I'm sure, because they're birds but I'll bet she just hated the things after that.)

Ahahaha, oh God, see, it's because they're birds that I'm positive they did it on purpose. Most people don't know it, but peacocks are really intelligent birds. When I had my peacock she used to be able to comprehend games of chase and fetch, like a dog would, and knew how to come when called. Noah was pretty vengeful, too, and she actually could remember things that made her mad and exact revenge on them later. One time my mum scolded her for doing something, and when my mum turned around to leave, she launched herself at mum and legit karate-kicked her in the leg. She got pissed at my best friend the first time they met, and basically would try to peck her every time they crossed paths after that. Noah had a little problem with forgiveness.

So really, I have no problem believing that the peacocks deliberately were trying to challenge her for chasing them and were trying to take over her living area. Birds are dicks like that.
