Once when I was young I had a nightmare about the guy in the house in Lake Hylia. Creepy fucker.

There's no doubt they look creepy, I agree with you there. The reason I don't find them scary though is because they're nice (for the most part lol)and they help you out.
The Redeads, on the other hand, paralyze you, then jump on you, then proceed to ~~hump~~ suck the life out of you and you can't do a damn thing about it, except maybe smash the buttons until it lets go. *shudder*

I always found the dead hand miniboss more terrifying. It had multiple disembodied arms with which to grab you and then it popped up, all pale and bloated with stumps for hands And it takes a chomp out of your neck. Far creepier than any redead.

I sort of see your point, especially with the woman who is in the potion house...BUT, I still find the Redeads worse. I think for me it's the sound they make. I hate it when you can hear them but aren't sure where they are. And it only gets worse when one does manage to jump you. I end up nearly breaking my thumb mashing A to get the damned thing off me.

It's the sound that does it for me, too. When they scream, I scream. I try to play the Sun's Song before that happens.

Huh. Somewhat off-topic, but that sounds akin to how Regenerators in RE4 are creepy: when you can hear them breathing and know they're there, but you haven't spotted them yet.

(My very first encounter with those things was so entertainingly scary, wow.)

The Happy Mask Salesman is really fucking creepy, but not as creepy as the transformation sequence when Link puts on the Zora mask in Majora's Mask.

Truth! I didn't want to play Majora's Mask after that scene, it was so creepy. Fortunately you can skip it once you know about it.

The masks in Majora's Mask make me feel bad for Link, like he seems to be in legit pain every time he puts one on so I feel like I am torchering a little fairy boy when I want to use cool mask powers.

I mean, I still put on the masks anyway...

I've never played this game, but after reading that haunted Majora's Mask creepypasta thing, they fucking creep me out so much.

I will agree some of the older human characters look creepy as hell. But I like the diversity of the human characters too. There's too many games where all the NPCs look the same and it makes it dull. I miss N64 graphics. :(

Everyone was freaked out by the fairy's pointy tits. That, and her shrill laugh. Oh, and the fact that she, like, spreads herself o_o idk WHAT nintendo was thinking

Agreed. There wasn't much about that game that WASN'T terrifying.

You forgot that one dude... He kept chickens in Majora, but in OoT, he just kind of... Sat there. Under a tree. In the middle of the night. If I recall correctly, he had creepy dead white empty eyes.

...I actually thought he was kinda cool, despite the creepy. And he was nice in Majora, if I remember correctly.

I always felt so bad for him - especially when he just vanishes in the forest later. Where... where did he go?

In retreospect, yeah, quite a few of the NPCs did look rather creepy. Don't remember being freaked out by any of them though... If only because I already had a lot to be afraid of in that game. Including ReDeads. :P

I have never found a damn thing scary about the redeads. I get kind of annoyed about "omg redeads :c" now because everyone says it A LOT. I've got to wonder if people are exaggerating things, although I know a lot played OoT as kids and have legitimate reasons for being scared at that age.

I played OoT when I was 7 or 8 with my neighbor friend. Neither of us paid any attention to the redeads aside from avoiding them because they were annoying.

Yeah, I always found them more annoying than anything.
