I think you CAN actully dislike Rita and LaGuerta without being sexist... :/
I really found Rita weird, enabling and pretty dense at the beginning. What LaGuerta pulled in season 2 with her replacements boyfriend was just really low - as it would have been if she were a man, and she can bitch about the captain all she wants... she's just as bad, only without the flock of old male white guys to hang around with.

BUT... I'd REALLY started to like Rita from the 3rd season on, and I can appreciate LaGuerta as a character. I'd hate her with a passion though if she was a coworker or boss of mine. (and there really is something... fish-like about her face that's not really making her attractive.)

Now how anyone could hate Deb... I'm totally lost at that one. She's beautiful without having that Megan-Fox-appeal-to-the-masses-prettyface that's been flooding the movies and TVshows since the 90s, and her character development is absolutely great.
And I *love* her language.

I'm pretty sure you can dislike Rita and LaGuerta without being sexist. Buuuut I'm not so sure you can get mass hatred + a heavy majority of people wishing she would die without being sexist. I've been around the fandom block a few times, and while I'm sure such mass groups of hatred exist for choice male characters, 95% percent of the time I see them, they're for women, and they're pretty firmly rooted in misogyny.

I think we're supposed to mostly dislike LaGuerta, so doing so doesn't necessarily mean you're sexist. The mass hatred for Rita, however, seems pretty misogynist because the complaints are always "she was naggy" or "she was a bad wife". Rita was devoted to Dexter and barely demanded anything from him, and he was a terrible husband. The few times she did confront him on his shit, she was pretty justified, and it's not fair to blame her for wanting a husband who was physically and emotionally present, and, you know, not a serial killer.
