LOL "sometimes food" hee. I agree with what you are saying (even though the only time I experience the "if you don't like het I JUDGE YOU is actually here on FS!). I just feel like I can get hot het...anywhere. Books, movies, TV and so on. When I read fanfiction I wanna get some (oh so taboo if you believe primetime tv) hot guy on guy lovin. Cause I can't find as much as a want other places. To use your food analogy, I feel like het is shoved down my throat, so I'm not as hungry for it! So yeah, I'll ship het couples i see on TV or movies, but I usually don't need fanfiction to explore it cause I have cannon for that.

But I think there is a little something to what the OP is saying because every time I read het pornfic and enjoy it a little part of me feels proud of myself, lol!

I have seen so much more complaining about what you call "het obligation" than I have seen people actually get shit for not liking het. Does it vary by fandom?
Then again, I also see a lot of martyrs who feel so oppressed for not liking slash or femmeslash and I see their complaints a lot more than I see people hating on them. So maybe it's just oversensitivity.

I've seen this pretty often actually and it sometimes bothers me depending on the context. Too many slash fans wanting to defend themselves by going, "But I like het too!" because they don't want to be associated with the crazy otaku yaoi fangirls, I assume. Half the time I see it, I do feel the urge to say, "Stop apologizing your kink."

I don't like het, myself. It's everywhere.
