I just wish people wouldn't take this fandom so seriously period. A lot of what happens is very tongue-in-cheek, and honestly, who they're gonna hook up with is the last thing on most of the characters' minds anyway.

That being said, kudos on finding a new spin on the issue. Can't say I've heard this angle before.

OP, is it ok to complain every time Abby arrives because you find her and Will aggravating?

For the record, the show does NEED Kate. Emphasis on the Needing part. I have no idea how to even understand her not being present, to be honest.

I just keep telling myself "she's on an important mission, she's on an important mission" whilst sitting in the corner rocking back and forth.

One day I want to see a Fandomsecret admitting to not loving Helen all that much, let alone other female characters.

Same here. I do like indie comics because they're by necessity short and actually get to the point, but I can't stand testosterone soaps like X-Men, etc that go on and on forever in various AUs and crossovers and reboots. In movie form, the writers are required to actually write a story with a story arc. So those I tend to enjoy.

See also: male gaze. You can cram a lot of objectification into a PG-13 movie, but you're at least limited by actual human biology. In superhero comics, the women are often so grossly, unnaturally objectified that I find the rest of the comic unreadable.

It's a little easier if you separate the character from the performer. Light/Wily foe-yay is perfectly acceptable and gives you an outlet to keep from shipping Panther/Turbo Lover. And even then, the performers' stage personae count as characters themselves, don't they? (Proto-meta is confusing...)
