I mean, I'm all about taking the story seriously when you're in the mood, and taking the characters and themes seriously, but...there's a difference between that and being a self-righteous dick about whatever ship you like or don't because no one else's opinion is valid.
Just enjoy the fandom, folks; stop telling people what they should and should not ship/like, and stop making generalizations about others. Fandom is diverse. You are free to follow whatever part or parts you want and ignore the rest.
