I will take note of your claim that I should only be interested in subjects Hollywood chooses for me based on my chronological age and genital shape and, though you do not mention it, probably my ethnicity as well.

Then I will reject it because my vaginal folds have nothing to do with if I enjoy a hobby or not. Unless that hobby is examining my own vaginal folds, then it might be kind of difficult to enjoy it if I lacked that organ.

I have very little opinion on the specific issue of MLP fandom, but I have to argue that there's a difference.

Women do not have a culture of fetishizing traits and imagery associated with young boys, and even if they did, while perhaps they'd have more power to abuse them than grown men, chances are it wouldn't be a very extensive culture. Meanwhile, there is a huge culture of fetishizing girls and stereotypically feminine qualities--with some female participants but is male-catered, and to a male majority--and this culture does have the power to abuse real girls as an extension of this fetish, and funnily enough, many people take advantage of this power every day, and only some of them are ever punished for it.

Even while there is a population of shoutacon fans, from what I've experienced the people involved are no specific sex [though like most porn I assume a hefty amount is targeted at men, correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not sure], and that is targeting more the fetish of young [male] children who are usually highly feminized and involved with older men [though yes, there are ones where they're involved with women--usually their mothers or teachers], rather than specifically young-masculine imagery. Even though the targets of shoutacon are boys, if you look it is still fetishizing things culturally associated with girls; the boys often look very similar to little girls, blushing, timidness, vulnerability, etc. In general, "child imagery" is highly feminized, due to basic societal viewpoints of "women and children" being on the same level of the social hierarchy.

As far as I know, most shows aimed at little boys don't have the high fetish potential that shows aimed at little girls do. Like, I really can't think of much (anything?) in Spongebob or Adventure Time [one of which has a unisex demographic, the other of which is commonly labeled a "boy show"] that really easily opens itself to fetishization of little boys.

I'm not saying men, even older men, can't like MLP--nor am I saying that a guy who likes MLP or kawaiiuguu imagery is automatically fetishizing young girls. But I will be honest and say that I do have a slightly visceral unnerved reaction when I see older men squeeing over highly feminine/young-looking characters and shows where they are the main attraction, just because the problem of male => female pedophilia/ephebophilia/young girl fetishization is one that has had a devastating effect on my life to date.

[To note: I've no issue with young boys liking young girl-targeted shows, or older men liking shows aimed at mature women. It's the older men liking shows that have themes that are traditionally associated with young girls, in context of lolicon fetishes that is where I might start to get weirded out, because opposed to a lot of the kink material in fandom communities, it has a higher rate of people actually acting out on their fetishes.]

Basically I agree with all of this. Nothing wrong with male fans of a "feminine" show anything more than there's something wrong with female fans of a "masculine" show, but the fetishization aspect does make me kind of uncomfortable.

the assumption that it is not ok for men to enjoy certain feminine things is rooted in misogyny. "girl" things are not good enough for men but I doubt you would be complaining if women were watching a show made for boys, therefore it is "good" to be a boy and "bad" to be a girl.

though it's probably pointless explaining this to you considering that your responses to other comments in this same thread kind of already show that you're a bitter angry person who just irrartionally hates that other people like a thing that you don't like.
