If the grammar is bad, I tend to assume that English isn't the person's first language.

I know alot of those "grammar nazis" are just nitpickers, but I think the whole thing started when people were afraid that typing on the internet would make everyone illiterate and stupid. Though I'm just guessin'.

I thank you for using quotation marks around "grammar nazi", which I take to mean that you're not really comfortable with this phrase.

Personally, I despise this phrase, because really? Nazis and grammar pendants are nothing alike. And as somebody who had family-members that were *killed* by actual nazis I just... I loathe this pharase.
