My attraction to N (as a character, I don't have any feelings on his appearance) stems, I guess, from this fondness I have for characters with mental illness or who could plausibly be on the autism spectrum. I've always found the idea of someone who loves Pokemon but doesn't get people fascinating and... that's N, with a side of being horribly manipulated because of it.

I don't see how anyone could find that boring unless they just plain weren't paying attention, but I'm clearly biased.

I don' really get why this is a secret? I like N, some people don't. Why must there be such animosity between N fans and N-haters?

Personally, I liked him because he would randomly pop up and start rambling nonsense, and I love it when Pokemon characters pop up and ramble nonsense. It's entertaining. And then later on in the game there was the woobie factor. I didn't really find him all that hot, either, but most of his fanart is...

I like N as a character and find him intriguing, but I don't fangirl him or think he's as interesting as a lot of other fans to.

To each zir own, really. Why is this a secret? You're not required to adore N in order to be a Pokemon fan.

You pretty much summed up my feelings on N, too. I find him interesting, but I never adored him quite as much as half of fandom seems to. I can understand why they do, but personally I just don't feel it.

(I think the reason I never really became enamoured with him is because he spends about 99% of the game just turning up and spouting absolute nonsense.)

I hold him in the same regard as B&W's story. It's good for a Pokemon game, like how N is one of the more interesting Pokemon characters. But when compared to just about anything else they're just trite and lame.

Same thing goes for his design.
