Ah god, this makes me want to cry.

As much as I like Castiel, I've always hated him a little bit after The Rapture. And any fic/bit of canon where he hangs around just to eat pie and make out with someone makes me feel kind of icky, because Jimmy Novak signed up to help Castiel save the world, not suck face with Dean/whoever.

And he didn't even sign up for that in the end, just to save his daughter.

Yeah, just let me sit here and gush forever about the awesome bravery and completely screwed up fate of Jimmy Novak. Because I can and I will.

To me, Jimmy is one of the most tragic characters in SPN, all I could think about during the Season opener is his family watching the news and seeing his face being paraded about as someone who went on a murderous rampage. Jimmy Novak is probably the most screwed over character in the entire SPN franchise about.

I always figured Lilith, Adam and Jimmy for a threeway tie of most screwed over.

Now I've gone and made myself sad :(

ETA: I lied, Bela too. So I guess it's a 4 way tie.

About that, I always did wonder if the angels actually made good on their promise to protect the Novaks. I mean, if they were pretty much expecting half of humanity to die in their heavenly bitchfight and didn't give a crap about that, I doubt they would have dispatched any of their number to hang around watching over the family of the vessel of one not particularly important angel, especially after he rebelled.
