I'm not sure about the skullfucking one, but some of the shock fics came from people being pissed off about the strikethrough business. I remember someone from school showing me a fic their friend had written that strived to be the most disgusting thing ever written... without including any underage ships or noncon. If the skullfucking one was the same thing (or even some form of trolling for some other reason), I can see how somebody might think it's okay to write seriously disturbing shit to mess with people, but not to write seriously disturbing shit when it's actually your thing?

I mean, I don't think it should be banned and they certainly shouldn't have done what they did. Gore is not for everyone, but if you need to expand a thread to read any of the potentially squicky parts, nobody is really harmed by it existing, especially if the kink meme does allow and accept things like noncon and abuse. (Full disclosure: I like gore. Not sexually, but I enjoy a lot of fics that would make many people very uncomfortable.) But your request and the shock fics really aren't the same thing?

I have written troll/shock fic, and had some people be turned on by it. When you write it, you really don't know how it's going to be taken. I'm not sure everyone even realized mine was trolling! And it was waaaay seriously disturbing shit. Though, not as disturbing as this Dolcett thing sounds like it could be. Perhaps it's a future theme for me to explore.

Fair enough, I wasn't on LJ until after. I probably just heard of the skullfucking story at the same time I heard of my friend's friend's story and how people were making trollfics because of strikethrough, or something like that. Sorry.

Still, guessing it was probably written to bother people, not arouse them. Odds of someone thinking incest AND noncon AND mutilations AND poop is hot is a lot smaller than the odds of somebody being a troll.

Oh, it's all right, I just wanted to mention it.

But yeah, I'm pretty sure no one ever thought that one was hot. I suppose it could have been written as a legitimate kink thing and as I remember it (though I try not to) it's pretty well-written for a "troll" fic but that's still pretty much what I think it is.

The best trolls make their fics badly written! If you can make something look legit, it's a lot more offensive XD
