Agreed. Completely, I've found such universal love for this musical I thought I was the only one who was profoundly unimpressed with both it and the characters.

Nope, you definitely aren't alone. I mean, I like the music well enough- some of it. "Seasons of Love" if absolutely gorgeous IMHO, and La Boheme is just kind of fun in a weird twisted way, but... I don't like the plot, and I don't like the characters. >:I

I seriously hate Rent. And not just because "Seasons of Love" always seems to be playing at totally inappropriate moments in my life (though that doesn't make me like it any more)!
