They're annoyed at the vocal die-hard portion of the fandom. I've seen it, and it's...pretty bad. Some people may also hate it when an artist they enjoy drops all their original work to draw nothing but trolls making out. (It's not my gripe personally, but I have a friend who hates this.)

The Newgrounds was just another straw for some folks, methinks.

but who even watches things on newgrounds anymore i kind of... forgot it existed...

It's definitely gone downhill, but I see the youtube versions of flashes from there getting a significant amount of attention (such as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXasCjUTNpE ), so it's safe to assume it's still relevant.

I'm bros with an animator on there, and they do get good money for things that will bring in traffic, so there's that as well. They're likely doing pretty well for themselves.

That's...not a good reason, imo. (The second one. The first is perfectly legit.) I mean I can't tell people why to get upset but...the artist doesn't owe anyone their free work, and should be able to draw whatever the hell they want. Don't get upset because they aren't doing what you want them to do. (Besides, lots of people do like the troll drawings, and have the right to enjoy them.)

I'm not talking to you, mind, but indirectly to the people who think that. It pisses me off. =/

Yar, like I said it's not my gripe. If I didn't want to see it all, I'd just stop watching such people silently. But the case is I DO watch people that do that, and I just ignore it most of the timerather than feeling anything about it.

But yeah, the first reason is the only one I've ever felt.
