You should tell your friend this--probably in an assertive manner though, and with the language cleaned up so there's a chance they'll listen. But I agree with you too on the debate of liking both Wheatley and GLaDOS. I think they're both awesome for their character and all of their flaws. I don't get why people think the love for GLaDOS has taken a backseat to Wheatley. All I see are people rushing to defend their love for the psychotic femmebot.

Dude, lame. :c I adore both characters -- and this is coming from somebody who was actually really annoyed with GLaDOS for the longest time because I wasn't into Portal but I literally could not escape GLaDOS references no matter what new fandom I got into.

I think it's weird people thing you've gotta like one or the other. Both are fascinating and fun for their own reasons.

I don't diss his fans, but I personally dislike Wheatley and love GLaDOS. I don't like him primarily because you help him and he turns on you, which is rather different from GLaDOS since she's ~always~ been an antagonist and never in a prior position of trust like how he was, if that makes sense.

I can't explain it. And that is why even though I don't like Wheatley, I support your right to totally like Wheatley. Or the Adventure Core. Or whatever. It's ridiculous for your friend to judge you anyway, but given how she feels about GLaDOS, you're right- she's being a hypocrite.

It's so annoying when fans feel the need to argue or chastise you about liking one thing over another. So laaaaaaaame.

Also, not necessarily related, why is it so hard to enjoy more than one thing at a time apparently. Some people make it sound like everything's always in competition with each other for fans or something.

I would agree with shukivengeance's analysis of the not-liking-Wheatly stance somewhat, except that my perception was that Wheatly was corrupted by GLaDOS' body rather than he truly turned on you. I always took what he said at the end as truth, he really felt bad and was sorry, because he was back to his rational self. I dunno.
